What happens when a community truly believes in investing in people? At Silver Maples, it looks like residents cheering on employees through exams, celebrating their accomplishments, offering encouragement, and helping create opportunities for the next generation. Our latest blog, "A Culture of Caring: People Investing in People at Silver Maples," shares the inspiring story behind our annual Scholarship Reception, the remarkable connections between residents and staff, and how a community built on generosity continues to change lives. 💜 Read how residents, employees, and donors are building a stronger community together. 👉
🎓💜 At Silver Maples, we're proud to celebrate a tradition rooted in generosity, opportunity, and people investing in people. What began in 2010 as a Resident Council idea to support employees through scholarships has grown into something truly remarkable. This year, we were honored to award more than $52,000 in scholarships to 12 deserving employees and their families. Many of our scholarship recipients balance school, work, family responsibilities, and community involvement while continuing to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents every day. Their dedication, leadership, and commitment inspire us all. What makes this program especially meaningful is the role our residents play. They don't just contribute financially—they encourage, mentor, celebrate accomplishments, and invest in the futures of the people who help make Silver Maples such a special place to call home. Congratulations to this year's scholarship recipients, we're so proud of you! #CultureOfCaring #InvestingInPeople #EmployeeScholarships #SilverMaplesChelsea #CommunityStrong
On a beautiful spring afternoon, members of the leadership team spent the day washing exterior windows throughout our Villas neighborhood as part of a Spring Clean Blitz. Armed with buckets, squeegees, and a good sense of humor, they worked together to help make our community shine a little brighter. At Silver Maples, we believe everyone plays a role in creating a beautiful place to call home—and sometimes that means getting a little soap on your sleeves! 💜
In case you missed it… 💜 Silver Maples is proud to celebrate two very special members of our community who were honored during the 2026 LeadingAge Michigan Member Awards Gala. Mother’s Day was filled with beauty, music, and cherished moments at Silver Maples. 💜🌷 We began the special weekend with a Ladies Luncheon on Friday honoring all of the wonderful women in our community. Tables were adorned in soft pastels, fresh flowers, and a touching poem "To Be a Woman" by Donna Ashworth. Residents enjoyed a delicious meal accompanied by lovely live music from Cheryl Beauchamp on piano and Mike Rupprecht on accordion. The celebration continued with our annual Mother’s Day Buffet on Sunday, where more than 200 residents and family members gathered to enjoy a delicious meal prepared by our amazing Culinary team and quality time together. From elegant table settings to heartfelt family gatherings, the weekend was a beautiful tribute to the mothers, grandmothers, and extraordinary women who enrich our lives each day.
During National Nurses Week, we were honored to celebrate both our current nurses and retired nurses at Silver Maples. 💜 Our honorees shared what inspired them to enter the nursing profession and reflected on the many ways they have cared for others throughout their careers. We also enjoyed a fun balloon game that highlighted the heart of nursing—juggling many responsibilities, working together, and recognizing the incredible value nurses bring to our lives. Residents, staff, current nurses, and retired nurses all had a wonderful time celebrating these extraordinary individuals. Thank you to all nurses, past and present, for your compassion, dedication, and the countless lives you have touched. #hereinthemeadows

What are people saying about Silver Maples?
Jenny was thorough, caring snd personable She addressed all my concerns and questions. Beautiful facility
This is a small community. It feels like a small home town where you could get to know everyone we were impressed
Silver Maples personnel are friendly and welcoming and answer all questions thoroughly and professionally.
The people who represent Silver Maples are outstanding. They are professional, informative and caring. They listen and provide thoughtful advice. When aging and considering a move to a retirement facility, thoughtful, honest and candid conversation is really appreciated..
My spouse and I live in Massachusetts and had just started the process of looking at retirement communities both in Massachusetts and in Michigan where we have family. We want a facility where we can age in place and have a continuity of care as needed down the road. We have been extremely impressed with Silver Maples and Christina Kim in particular. We reached out via their website and Christina responded quickly and in no time we had scheduled an online meeting with her. She couldn't have been more helpful and more friendly. During the meeting her expertise and experience became apparent. She understood where we are in the process and provided very helpful resources that have helped us decide that Silver Maples is the place for us! We strongly encourage anyone who is contemplating making such a move but who isn't easily able to get to Chelsea for an in-person meeting, to start the conversation with Christina online. It was really easy and made a big difference in our decision-making process by helping us take the next step to go visit next month!
Our tour was thorough and engaging. Christina was respectful, patient and fun. She took all the time we needed to get all our questions answered.
My parents spent close to twenty delightful years at Silver Maples. Their lives were rich with activities, music, friendship, and the commitment of the amazing staff. We could not have asked for a better environment for them to live. My wife and I are so impressed, we’re planning on Silver Maples for our retirement, and I’ve joined the Board of Directors!
I visited 5 senior living communities before choosing Silver Maples. I have been there numerous times and everyone, staff and residents, are always happy and friendly. Being a non-profit was important to me. I look forward to moving in soon! Rosemary Blackman
From the moment I walked in the door, I experienced the staff as people enjoying working at Silver Maples. Their interactions were warm and upbeat. Gem showed me an example of a room in independent living and the cook discussed how my food allergies might be accommodated. All my questions were answered and I left feeling like Silver Maples is a place I could enjoy being part of.
The dedication to servicing their residents the staff at Silver Maples Show is hands down the best! Their dedication and genuine care create such a warm and welcoming environment for both residents and families. Silver Maples is a special place because of the people who pour their hearts into it. Thank you for ALL of you at Silver Maples!
The staff is experienced, warm, caring and advocates for their residents, families and their community.
Running into several friends touring at the same time made it feel as though we were already residents! Lucky us!
Silver Maples seems to be the right size--not too big, not too small.
The discussion of housing options and amenities offered at Silver Maples was thorough and helpful in decision-making. Christina took time to answer all our questions. Patti, the culinary Director, was friendly and gracious! We met a few residents, some of whom we've known from living in the Chelsea area for 40+ yrs. Each person expressed being very satisfied with the community. We were very impressed with the whole experience!
Very welcoming and caring staff and community. Residents are happy!
We recently moved into a Silver Maples villa. We expected to love it here, but it is even better than we expected. It is phenomenal! Great people, wonderful food, prompt service, lots of activities, and a caring family atmosphere. We are so glad we made the move.
